StrongerMemory is making headlines

Success stories

Meet Eugene

Husband, father, grandpa, veteran, pastor and community “good guy”,  Eugene was diagnosed with Parkinson’s and PTSD in 2022. He began exhibiting signs of dementia. He became physically aggressive, frustrated and angry. His family soon became disheartened. Then Eugene started StrongerMemory℠. Turns out he’s a math whiz. As his cognitive function improved, things began to turn around. He remembered his daughter and called her by name. That’s when the tears started to flow. Now Eugene regales us with stories from his childhood and the war. Many are long and wild. All are fantastic.

Success stories

Meet Claretha

Mother, grandma, great grandma, teacher and Bible school leader, Claretha suffered congestive heart failure in 2020. Then came depression and cognitive changes. She stayed in bed all day and refused to participate in group activities. Then Claretha started StrongerMemory. Now her CNA is prepared for the daily request to help her get ready for her session. Claretha’s husband has even started attending, and he cannot believe how much his wife has changed.

Testimonials

StrongerMemory works. Take our word for it.

  • “StrongerMemory became a part of what we do, not just a thing we do. It’s becoming a regular part of the senior center experience. You come in, dive into your StrongerMemory work first thing, do a little chatting in between, and then you’re ready to face the day.”

  • “StrongerMemory is an easy-to-use system for stimulating your thinking process. It has helped me to deal with temporary memory lapses and develop skills for retrieving thoughts from long ago.”

  • “It’s rewarding to call those StrongerMemory participants and caregivers at home and hear their stories: the caregiver becomes the facilitator. All have commented that they are enjoying reading out loud.”

  • “We like coming to the weekly meetings and the socialization of the group. It has provided us with a lot of information. There is a real sense of comradery. We enjoy tracking the progress of our efforts with each activity. And the reading activity is especially enjoyable.”

  • “I noticed that in reading books or news stories, that reading aloud with someone and discussing the material has greatly improved my understanding and retention. The best part of the program has been the weekly check-in meetings. Even on Zoom from across the country, I enjoy hearing and relating to the stories, experiences and suggestions from other participants as well as the feedback from the professional Facilitators.”

  • “It’s great to know we can be a ‘positive’ resource for people concerned about memory loss/dementia by offering a free, virtual program to caregivers who said they needed something. Now this is an engaging part of their day where they’re spending time together. “
